“Bird” is a slang meaning girl. I’ve always been drawn to birds in captivity because I felt I could relate to them whenever I was feeling stuck mentally. We both had nowhere to go. “Bird” is also slang for prison or a prison sentence. Like the birds in captivity. I’ve been stuck at home, lately. With nowhere to go but within these four walls. Combining all those elements it transformed itself into a journey for self acceptance. There is still a long road ahead. But one day we will all be free. Free of those four walls and free of our own self doubt.
